continues from Premature Products To complement to the prematureness of the Philips Lightscribe is the fact that the quality is poor. The greyscale laser-etched labels are faint and absolutely unimpressive.

We don’t think products like this belong in the hands of customers, because they easily create mismatches in product expec- tations and product performance.

Therefore we would like to recommend to always check our prematureness rating on products you want to pur- chase: you can find it on the bottom of any product current- ly on sale. Really.

My Alarm Clock

This morning I was once again abruptly woken by my alarm clock. Instead of snoozing I gave the little buzzer a moment of thought.

Why do digital alarm clocks only allow you to set time clockwise? If I want to set the time of my alarm just 5 or 10 minutes earlier, I’m pressing the damn minute button an absurd
50 times.

Even worse is the trouble with changing the time in hours. If you press the button once too many, you get to push it for another 23 times.

So much for usability, don’t you think?
